I’ve upgraded to a real Content Management System, the impressive open-source WordPress 1.5, a slick and sophic CMS; ditching my own CMS (sob, sob).

The upshots are:

  • More frequent posts, owing to ease of posting (the CMS I wrote was a 5-hour hack that generated and maintained the weblog locally, and had more hooks and crooks than there were lines of code; so it was basically a pain in the neck to update and maintain).
  • Comment functionality (I really don’t know if comments are a good idea, but I’m letting them stay for the time being).
  • Better organization of the weblog, categories, archives, search–the works.

So put your hands (and keyboards) together for: WordPress!
