About this category (”Arbit”)
A little rant on this “experimental” category might be in order, methinks. So here goes…
Well, let’s see. Anything posted in this category would be, by definition, cryptic. I’m doing a little experiment on myself (of the psychoanalytic kind, inspired by an Organizational Behaviour course called Managing People and Performance in Organizations that we take in Term 2), the details of which might or might not be disclosed later (depending on how the experiment turns out). In short, the experiment is derived from a casual statement (even cliched, some might say) that our prof. made in the opening class of the course, stating (recalled from memory, not verbatim):
Organizations are nothing but people. Hence, to learn to manage people in organizations, you have to first learn about people. And to know others enough to manage them effectively, you have to know yourself. Knowing oneself if the first and the most important step to be an effective people (and performance (and whatever else)) manager in an organization.
What or where will this lead to? I cannot say…
