Time flows on. And I try to flow with it. The last post, I now observe, has been a January one… and it’ s been a while since that. Many events have come to pass, and more are yet to come; some that I can speak about, some that I cannot, some that I will not. Some nice, some painful, some uncategorized, some irritating and one that was downright blissful. (Landing at Lehman is uncategorized… but I’m looking forward to categorizing it in a couple of months.)

I’m here in Hong Kong now, attending the Summer Internship program at Lehman Brothers, on a two month sabbatical of sorts from IIM Bangalore. Exotic sounding names like Structured Credit, High Yield Fixed Income Research, Equity Derivatives, Callable Convertible Dual RIB Notes (hat tip: Satya Smriti) and a host of equally impressive sounds is what I hear day in and day out now. Financial statements and annual reports are my diet–albeit not very digestible ones. The universe of finance is interesting. And the world of Lehman is more interesting still.

But what the hell. I want to write again, inspiration coming mostly from reading Satya Smriti’s posts (am not sure if I am at liberty to disclose the real name of my friend here).

As I said, this is just a quick post from the “cage” of a certain IITM-IIMB-JPM geek I know. But I want to write again, and that is a good thing. There seem to be no more wants anymore. Great things have happened, and I am yet to fully absorbed their significance. But I will, very soon, once I am free from this state of being torn apart in multiple directions.

But spring is here, and that is always A Good Thing.
